What is a Shopware interface?

Every company has its own IT infrastructure, which can include, for example, solutions for merchandise management, accounting and billing, advertising media printing or an ERP system and, of course, the Shopware online shop. Unfortunately, all of these systems "speak" different languages. Shopware interfaces help these systems to communicate with each other, i.e. to exchange data. In principle, an interface/API is something like an interpreter that prepares the data from one programme so that another programme can understand it.

Interfaces are normally used for communication and the exchange of information between systems. However, interfaces can also take on functional tasks; these are programming interfaces or plug-ins. There are already many interfaces for Shopware in the form of plugins that integrate various systems into Shopware, for example DATEV interfaces for Shopware. We help you to find the right solution and take care of the integration and implementation.

Many companies also have programmes and systems for which there are no Shopware interfaces yet or where the existing ones do not meet the individual requirements. This is not a problem either: our experienced developers have already integrated many systems.

Shopware interfaces for omnichannel and multichannel retailers

Do you have a merchandise management system, a PIM, marketing tools for the automatic creation of advertising material, programmes for managing your locations and/or many other systems that you would like to link to your Shopware online shop? Then give us a call, because we are the experts for Shopware interfaces and plugins. We offer seamless integration into your existing systems.

We have already helped many retailers, from small specialised retailers to large online shops, to optimally connect their systems in order to achieve more success in marketing and sales. On request, we also offer you ongoing support and further development as well as Shopware service and support.

Shopware interfaces for B2B companies

In B2B shops, it is always necessary to connect programmes to the Shopware online shop that are run by the retailer's suppliers or customers. These can be special industry solutions or, in extreme cases, self-developed solutions for which there are no standard plugins in the Shopware Community Store. This is where we offer our help with our many years of expertise as a Shopware Business Partner. We know Shopware and its possibilities down to the smallest detail and have already found integration solutions for many of our customers.

Customised Shopware interfaces for agency partners

Are you a Shopware agency but have reached the limits of your knowledge with a customer and need expertise in implementing a link between a customer system and the Shopware online shop? We can help you quickly, competently and straightforwardly.

Shopware 5 API

When it comes to Shopware interfaces, it depends on which version you are using. We implement interfaces for both Shopware 5 and Shopware 6. As the 5 version has been established in e-commerce for a long time, there are already numerous tried-and-tested plugins and interfaces on the market. Sometimes, however, self-developed solutions are better and, above all, more flexible: we develop a Shopware 5 API for you that is customised to your individual requirements. The advantage of the 5 version is the numerous Shopware features that have been tried and tested for years and have been further developed by the community.

Shopware 6 API

New new generation of Shopware offers powerful plugins and modern designs out of the box. Shopware 6 is not only an open commerce platform, but also a framework for building outstanding shops. With the Shopware framework Symfony 4, the basis remains the same as with Shopware 5, which makes it easier to get started. One of the major new advantages of the 6 version is multi-channel sales. This is where the Shopware 6 interfaces come into play: to ensure that the various channels can be connected with each other and function without errors, properly programmed and well-tested Shopware 6 APIs are required. At signundsinn, we rely in particular on self-developed Shopware interfaces because they give you more options

Shopware PWA

Shopware 6 has a Progressive Web App (PWA), which has been completely modernised for the 6 version: When customers access your online shop, the front end adapts to the customer's device, for example smartphone or tablet. No app is required to generate an outstanding customer experience on mobile devices. While the Shopware PWA itself is not an interface, Shopware's focus on perfect compatibility with many interfaces is the basis for the PWA. The front and back ends are independent of each other in Shopware 6. This opens up great possibilities and enormous flexibility for Shopware interfaces and in the backend and the customer-orientated presentation in the frontend. This is basically the meaning of "headless API". Data is loaded into the backend via the Shopware interface so that both can exist separately. This separation provides more security, for example, because errors in the backend are not immediately and automatically transferred to the frontend. If the backend is not accessible, the frontend is not affected.

Shopware Interfaces Example:

Shopware 6 accounting

An important example of a Shopware interface is the accounting software for Shopware: If the software is connected to Shopware via API, data exchange and processing take place fully automatically. This saves you a lot of work in the online shop! It also speeds up processes and makes them more resistant to errors: a professionally set up Shopware interface works precisely, quickly and reliably. With human intervention, there is significantly more potential for errors, for example when transferring data, typing errors or incorrect prioritisation. We optimise your Shopware accounting!

ERP systems and inventory management

We connect Shopware with your ERP system (Enterprise Resource Planning), for example with the Xentral Shopware 6 interface. Your online shop is the engine of your sales. It's where you get your sales and make customers happy. It is where you fulfil your mission. Your Shopware online shop should therefore also play a key role in all business processes.

And data and key figures are essential for this. At signundsinn, we take care of a Shopware interface to your ERP system so that all information is available and synchronised in every process. Examples of widely used ERP systems are Xentral and Pickware, which was specially developed for Shopware.

Pickware interfaces are therefore part of Shopware's DNA: connect your merchandise management system and improve order picking, warehousing, purchasing, returns and much more. Don't forget: your online shop is more than just a website with products - you need to think about the business as a whole. Communication between the shop and the merchandise management system or other business areas is therefore essential. To maximise your success in e-commerce, there are more levers than just the price of your products. First-class usability for satisfied customers and good conversion rates also means that you need to fulfil the technical requirements at IT level. This includes up-to-date stock displays from the warehouse, the option of placing partial orders or combining different items, etc.

However, a Shopware EDI interface (Electronic Data Interchange) ensures that you can exchange all data and forms internally and externally in a standardised way. As we discussed above, a Shopware interface acts like an interpreter between the systems. And with an EDI connection, the data and file formats can be communicated/read with each other. Sounds complicated? You don't have to do anything else: As a Shopware agency, we take care of everything for you.

Expanding the range in the shop

You can integrate links to catalogues, products and manufacturers via Shopware interfaces. Shopware TecDoc, for example, is a solution for the spare parts trade in the automotive sector: Expand the portfolio in your shop with a huge number of automotive parts via the Shopware interface and open up new sales potential. You don't have to upload, edit and update each item individually in the shop - interfaces do this fully automatically, extremely reliably and at lightning speed. The larger selection allows you to reach a broader target group and gain relevance for customers and search engines. At the same time, you will receive more indexed pages on Google & Co. and cover more keywords for your rankings. We have developed Elasticsearch for Shopware so that your customers can find the products they want just as quickly and easily: a fast, dynamic search function for excellent results.

Shopware CRM and Sales

In e-commerce, you need a holistic CRM (Customer Relationship Management) in order to optimally position yourself in the customer journey and retain happy customers in the long term. Connect to Shopware Salesforce to create valuable synergies! Your sales team has all the data from Shopware in the CRM tool and can intensively drive customer loyalty. Thanks to the Shopware API with the CRM, you know exactly what each customer wants - and can offer it to them. Thanks to Shopware technologies, you can take your online shop to a new level!
