Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure, abbreviated HTTPS, translated: "secure hypertext transmission protocol" is a communication protocol on the Internet. These are able to transmit data in such a way that they are tap-proof, since transport encryption is used. It gets technically defined as a URI scheme, which is an additional layer between TCP and HTTP.
